Additional Services
In addition to providing general home and business solar solutions, we recognize that customers who are interested in (or may already have) a solar installation sometimes face situations with unique needs and/or circumstances. We offer a variety of services to help.
Here are several of the more common issues customers face, but if there’s ever anything you need help with regarding solar, give us a call. We can either provide the help you need, or refer you to a professional who can. Below are a few examples of situations where our services stand out from others in the industry.

Solar System Appraisals

There are several situations where a solar system appraisal may be needed:
-
- When refinancing a mortgage or applying for a new mortgage and the solar system is considered part of the property’s value, it will need to be appraised.
- In some cities, solar systems can be considered part of the property’s taxable value, and an appraisal might be needed to determine the system’s contribution to the property’s overall assessed value.
Our appraisal will provide a valuation based on multiple factors such as owned vs. leased, year installed, size, warranty coverage, etc. The value of the solar panels themselves is considered, along with the potential energy savings they offer and the increased marketability of the property. Our appraisals are backed by data from the United States Department of Energy.
Lease Assistance
We provide assistance in evaluating a solar lease for homes being bought/sold, including:
-
- Evaluation of the current lease contract to review the lease terms, including payment structure, maintenance responsibilities, and contract length.
- System production evaluation
- Consultation with the new homeowners to determine energy needs to ensure it’s future performance is taken into account
- Appraisal of the existing system’s current market value

Home Owners Associations

With the proliferation of multi unit dwellings, it’s important to understand how a solar installation can be successfully implemented to ensure it meets the needs of unit owners and the specific requirements of the HOA. Our HOA services include:
-
- Consultation on options for various shared roof types
- Solar feasibility for HOA common area meters
- How to comply with HOA guidelines for current residents
- Review of your HOA’s covenants, conditions, and restrictions (CC&Rs) to understand any specific restrictions related to solar installations.
Residents and HOAs need to be aware of potential restrictions, but also understand their rights under solar access laws. While HOAs can’t typically outright prohibit solar panels, they can impose reasonable restrictions on design, aesthetics, location, and even safety/maintenance issues. Understanding your local solar access laws and engaging in open communication with the HOA is crucial for navigating these considerations.
